Portrait of John Edmondson

I build scalable, data-driven systems that support real teams in production — happiest on mission-driven work like sustainability and waste reduction.

Relational data models, APIs, and background processing in Go and PostgreSQL, alongside React and TypeScript frontends. I build systems that stay reliable, understandable, and able to evolve as product needs grow, working closely with product and design partners to turn complex requirements into clear, usable tools. A background in UX/UI design means I think through user experience, data integrity, and system reliability together rather than in isolation. Originally from Portland, Oregon, now based in Freiburg, Germany — in my free time you'll find me traveling, doing house projects, and building apps to improve my day-to-day life.
